Dear Neighbor

The Garden Club of Montville would like to extend an invitation for you to join us. We are a growing organization of over 40 members, who appreciate the joy that flowers and gardens bring into our lives and community. We have been an active organization since 1945 and our Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Membership in the garden Club of Montville is open to all regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, or religious affiliation.

We meet at the Montville Township Senior House located on 356 Route 202, Montville, New Jersey 07045 the first Wednesday of each month from September through May unless otherwise stated.

All of our programs are free and open to the Public. One does not need to be a Montville resident to attend. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 PM and our programs start at 7:00 PM

Objectives & Purpose

  • Render any service possible to the community.
  • Deepen appreciation & protection of all horticulture, especially conservation of native plants.
  • Study Garden cultivation & the beauty of floral arrangements.
  • Stimulate interest in gardens & gardening.
  • Study birds & bird protection.
  • To cooperate, as a member, with the objectives, policies, and reccommendations of the Garden Club of New Jersey, Inc. which is affiliated with the National Garden Clubs, Inc.

Fundraiser

  • Care of Montville Township Public Library Memorial Garden, Rain Garden, Holiday decorations & inside plants
  • Senior House Gardens

Programs

  • Professional speakers present programs throughout the year on floral design, horticulture, environmental issues, and garden related subjects.
  • Workshops are held where "Hands On" instruction is given for floral design & other related subjects.
  • Trips & tours are organized to attend flower shows and visit gardens, parks, and other places of interest.

Other Benefits

  • Fellowship, Friendship, Fun, and Education with those who love gardening.
  • All our members, subject to showing their membership card, are entitled to discounts at local garden centers.
  • Attend GCNJ State Fall Conferences, Annual Meetings and State District Meetings.
  • Attend Schools: Flower Show, Landscape Design, Gardening Study and Symposiums.
  • Attend GCNJ State sponsored projects, field trips, workshops, meetings, and tours.
  • Receive GCNJ quarterly newsletter. 
  • Spring Luncheon: Members and guests enjoy delicious home-made food prepared by members. 
  • In December, a Holiday Dinner is held in a local restaurant to celebrate the end of another great Garden Club year.

GCM Scholarship

   

Every year, the Garden Club of Montville presents a $1000 scholarship to a Montville resident who is a Senior in High School, not just at Montville High School, but also any Private School the student may be attending. 


The student must be majoring in a subject associated with gardening, such as horticulture or environment, etc.
